Register your Wiener Dog to compete in the 2026 Grand River Raceway Wiener Dog Race presented by Dreamland Pet on Friday, July 10th!
See your pup race to the finish line at our most popular (and adorable) event of the year. There are no losers only wieners!
30 Competitor Spots Available: 3 heats of 10 dogs. The top 3 from each heat compete in the final race. The final race determines 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Hosted at Grand River Raceway (7445 Wellington County Rd. 21, Elora)
Registration Fee = $35 per Wiener Dog (competitor)
Please provide proof of your pup’s rabies vaccination records immediately after completing the competitor registration form. Please send to bookings@thegrandway.com.
NO REFUNDS (If your pet is unable to compete you will unfortunately forfeit your spot.)
Purchase a Wiener Dog T-shirt or Hat for $10 at checkout with the registration of your dog.

Approximate schedule for Friday, July 10:
- Competitor registration opens at 6:00 pm
- Horse races begin at 6:20 pm
- 3 wiener dog qualifying heats begin after Horse Race #4 (7:35 pm)
- Wiener Dog FINAL Race begins after Horse Race #6 (8:20 pm)
- Trophy for Wiener Dog Race Winner is awarded after Race #7 (8:35 pm)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Service dogs are always welcome! However, please do not bring your dog to the racetrack unless it is registered to compete in the wiener races. Thank you!
Competing dogs must be accompanied at all times. Two humans are to be present for the race component.
- You must have two handlers for the dogs. All handlers must wear a black or white shirt for visibility.
- Competitor registration opens at 6:00 pm.
- It is our busiest night at the track, please ensure your dog feels comfortable and safe. Bring treats, toys, etc., and take breaks away from the crowds if needed.
- We have around 3,000 attendees on site this evening, please be kind and courteous to all.
- The Grand River Raceway tarmac and building, along with The GrandWay Events Centre and Patio, are all accessible, however, the race track is not. If you have any accessibility concerns or questions, please reach out to bookings@thegrandway.com.
- As always, we have taken your feedback from last year to continue to ensure races keep getting better and better!
