Community Support
Grand River Raceway is committed to supporting the growth and prosperity of its communities by responsibly giving back and making a positive difference through its involvement in important local initiatives, including:
- Philanthropic Funding Initiative – Distribute approximately $1 million annually through operating surpluses and investments, supporting agricultural innovation, environmental stewardship, food security and rural community development.
- Pizza Perfect & AgScape ThinkAG Career Symposium – Pizza Perfect hosted over 650 grade 3 elementary students and AgScape’s ThinkAG hosted an agricultural career day for 600 grade 8 and 9 students.
- Scholarship Program – Award 12 post-secondary scholarships for agriculture and environmental studies and 8 scholarships in partnership with Indspire supporting Indigenous youth, totaling over $53,000. In addition, GRAS sponsored two female post-secondary students to attend the Advancing Women in Agriculture Conference.
- OVC Veterinary Scholarship – Launch a new $5,000 scholarship supporting veterinary students pursuing studies in Food Animal Practice or Rural Communities Practice at OVC.
- SPARKv4 Symposium – Host an annual ag-tech/green-tech symposium connecting innovative companies to investors (Angels, individuals, companies and Funds), creating key networking outcomes in a sold-out event.
- Partner Organizations – Support agricultural awareness and education through partnerships with organizations such as Food Day Canada, Equine Guelph, and local agricultural societies.
- Community Grants & Mini-Grants – Provide funding to a growing number of organizations embedding agricultural and environmental education into their programming, from horticultural therapy and dairy shows to environmental mentoring and equine days.
