Grand River Raceway Wiener Dog Races welcome new presenting sponsor: Dreamland Pet!
Grand River Raceway (GRR) is proud to announce their popular Wiener Dog Races are coming back this year with a new Presenting Sponsor – Dreamland Pet!
GRR is proud to host “the most adorable race of the season” on Friday, July 12, 2024, 30 dachshunds will race in three heats of 9 or 10 dogs in between the horse races. The three winners from each heat move on to the final race consisting of 9 dogs who then will (hopefully) dash to the finish line to take home the biscuits!
This year GRR has a fresh presenting sponsor, their neighbour, Dreamland Pet. Dreamland Pet is barking with excitement to be joining the fun! They will provide each wiener dog competitor with a fun prize pack and the top dogs (top 3 winners) will get an extra special treat. Dreamland Pet will be on-site during the races enjoying the fun and greeting the wieners as they come in.

Dreamland Pet will be hosting a People’s Choice Award this year. The People’s Choice Award will allow the public to vote for their favourite wiener dog competitor. Voting will be open to the public a week before the races through their website, in-store, and on the GRR website. If you’re attending the races, you will have the opportunity to vote during the races! More details coming soon.

Last year a crowd of around 3,000 people attended the event! It is recommended you come early, doors open at 5:30 pm. GRR asks that you respect all guests and staff and allow everyone an opportunity to see the dogs race.
