Training begins Thursday, May 9 – 7:00 am to 11:00 am.
Please note that there is still ongoing construction with trucks working around the track and to be safe when entering and exiting.
Qualifying horses are entered through the Mohawk Park Race Office (905-854-7805), box closes Monday at 9:30 am for Wednesday qualifiers. Trainers should call the Grand River Raceway Race Office (519-846-5455 ext:224) any race night to add horses for schooling to the list.
The GrandWay Lounge serving food and drinks will be open every race night starting June 5.
Claiming Procedures as per Chapter 15 of the Standardbred Rules of Racing
- Must be received by the Race Office at least ½ hour prior to the scheduled post time of the race you are claiming from.
- Methods of payment for claim: Bank draft or certified cheque made payable to Grand River Raceway. We cannot accept 3rd party cheques. (IE: endorsed WEG purse/claim cheques)
- HST (13%) will be added to all claiming prices.
- A transfer fee of $48.00 will be invoiced to the 1st new owner by Standardbred Canada. Payment will not be accepted in the Race Office.
- Any overpayment on a claim will be issued by a cheque to the person(s) who is doing the claiming.
Note to Owners of claimed horses:
- Owners of claimed horses need to confirm with the Business Office by contacting Sue Ellis at 519-846-5455 ext 221 or by email to sellis@grandriverag.com if they are registered for HST or not before a claim cheque can be issued. If you are registered then you also need to give us your valid HST #.
- Standardbred Canada has requested that all Claim payments are cleared thru them before being handed out.

Box closes at 9:30 a.m. on all draw days
- Draw Monday for Friday
- Draw Wednesday for Monday
- Draw Friday for Wednesday
Driver changes are to be made through the Grand River Race Office by 9 p.m. the day of the draw. Equipment changes on race night will also go through the Grand River Race Office.
