Industry Day Celebration

Our Industry Day Celebration is the marquee event of the race season. It’s staged annually during a special afternoon race card on each Civic Holiday Monday (the first Monday in August).
The day is highlighted by two major races, The Battle of Waterloo and the Battle of the Belles.

• FREE Kids’ Zone: 12– 4 | Petting Zoo, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting
• Program ballot required to enter all prize draws:

• OSAS 50/50 Draw
• Caretakers that Care Competition ($1500 in prize money to be won by the caretakers of Industry Day horses that go above & beyond) – Sponsored by COSA
• Drive a Racehorse (sign-up at the tarmac booth on a first come first serve basis – limited spots available)
• Halftime Show after Race 5: Drivers’ Edition of the Bouncy Pony Stakes

• Festivities & Broadcast Start at 12:00
• Post Time for Race 1 is 12:30
• Parking & admission are always free
• Children allowed throughout, except slots floor
• Hop on the free people-mover from 11-5
Battle of Waterloo
The Battle Of Waterloo is Grand River Raceway’s signature race and is showcased during Industry Day by Ontario-sired two-year-old pacing colts.
The Battle of Waterloo was raced annually at Elmira Raceway from 1998 through 2003. In 2004, the race debuted at its new home at Grand River Raceway in Elora.

Battle of the Belles
The Battle Of The Belles is Grand River Raceway’s companion race to its signature dash, (the Battle Of Waterloo), and is showcased during Industry Day. The Battle Of The Belles is contested by Ontario-sired two-year-old pacing fillies.
