Industry Day Celebration

Our Industry Day Celebration is the marquee event of the race season. It’s staged annually during a special afternoon race card on each Civic Holiday Monday (the first Monday in August).

The day is highlighted by two major races, The Battle of Waterloo and the Battle of the Belles, and an Ontario Sires Stakes event for three-year-old filly pacers in the Grassroots Series.

The Races

Battle of Waterloo

The Battle Of Waterloo is Grand River Raceway’s signature race and is showcased during Industry Day by Ontario-sired two-year-old pacing colts.

The Battle of Waterloo was raced annually at Elmira Raceway from 1998 through 2003. In 2004, the race debuted at its new home at Grand River Raceway in Elora.
