GRAS donation kicks off Food Bank coat drive
ELORA, ON — A $5,000 donation covering the costs of 154 articles of new winter clothing was made by the Grand River Agricultural Society (GRAS), owner/operator of Grand River Raceway, to benefit the clients of the Centre Wellington Food Bank. The presentation was made on December 9 at the Elora track.
The lot includes 40 winter coats, 32 pairs of boots and 82 hats/scarves/gloves/snow pants.
Jackie Andrews, of the Centre Wellington Food Bank Board Of Directors and Coordinator of the Christmas Hamper and Angels Program said the donation comes on the heels of the organization’s recent call for winter gear.
In the past two years, GRAS had donated more than 400 articles of clothing retailing $10,000 to this excellent program.
