Our Industry Day Celebration is the hallmark event of the race season. Held annually on Civic Holiday Monday (the first Monday in August) there is a special afternoon race card highlighted by two major races, The Battle of Waterloo presented by Winbak Farm and the Battle of the Belles.

  • Food trucks on-site at the East Gate

Battle of Waterloo

The Battle Of Waterloo presented by Winbak Farm is Grand River Raceway’s signature race and is showcased during Industry Day by Ontario-sired two-year-old pacing colts. The Battle of Waterloo was raced annually at Elmira Raceway from 1998 through 2003. In 2004, the race debuted at its new home at Grand River Raceway in Elora.

Battle of the Belles

The Battle of the Belles is Grand River Raceway’s companion race to its signature dash, (the Battle Of Waterloo), and is showcased during Industry Day. The Battle Of The Belles is contested by Ontario-sired two-year-old pacing fillies.
